The opening ceremony of The Fourth China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) took place at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Venue) in Beijing on June 22. As the world’s first national-level exhibition themed on supply chains, this year’s CISCE revolves around the theme “Connecting the World for a Shared Future”. Centered on industrial chain coordination and driven by technological innovation, it continues to build a professional platform for integrated cooperation and win-win outcomes across global industrial and supply chains.

The expo features six major industrial chains and a supply chain service zone: Digital & Intelligent Technology Chain, Advanced Manufacturing Chain, Green Agriculture Chain, Healthy Living Chain, Smart Vehicle Chain, and Clean Energy Chain. A total of 676 leading enterprises, specialized, sophisticated, unique and innovative SMEs, and industrial institutions participated, with exhibitors covering 85 countries, regions and international organizations.

Global Gathers to Celebrate Grand Supply Chain Cooperation Event

Ding Xuexiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech.

Ding Xuexiang noted that the global landscape is undergoing complex changes, with rising risks of fragmentation in industrial and supply chains. President Xi Jinping has pointed out that safeguarding the resilience and stability of global industrial and supply chains constitutes a vital underpinning for world economic growth, serving the shared interests of people across all nations. As a responsible major country, China leverages its complete industrial system and ultra-large market to unclog the arteries of the world economy, taking concrete actions to firmly uphold stable and unimpeded global industrial and supply chains.

Ding Xuexiang emphasized that global supply, industrial and value chains are closely interconnected, with every country a vital link in the cooperative network. Safeguarding stable and smooth global industrial and supply chains requires joint efforts from all parties. He put forward four proposals:

First, strengthen mutual trust, refrain from politicizing, weaponizing or over-securitizing economic and trade issues, eliminate disruptions stemming from non-economic factors, and jointly preserve the public goods nature of global industrial and supply chains.

Second, boost unimpeded trade, uphold and practice genuine multilateralism, safeguard the multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization at its core, oppose protectionism disguised under green and low-carbon pretexts, foster a fair, open and predictable market environment, and advance liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment.

Third, pursue integrated development, work together to deepen integration between innovation chains and industrial-supply chains, jointly build industrial ecosystems featuring complementary strengths and mutual benefits, and extend the dividends of scientific and technological innovation to more countries and peoples.

Fourth, advance resource sharing, actively maintain the openness, connectivity and steady operation of global energy markets, promote mutually beneficial cooperation and peaceful utilization of critical minerals, and create sound conditions for stable and unobstructed global industrial and supply chains.

Paul Mashatile, Deputy President of South Africa, attended the ceremony and delivered an address. Sefi, CEO of the Global Board of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, read out a congratulatory message from King Charles III of the United Kingdom to the Fourth CISCE. John Denton, Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce, and Xi Guohua, Chairman of CITIC Group, also spoke at the opening ceremony. Around 1,300 political, business and academic representatives from over 100 countries, regions and international organizations worldwide were present.

Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), presided over the ceremony. He stated that as the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, the Fourth CISCE focuses on advancing high-quality development and expanding high-standard opening-up, scaling up international cooperation on industrial and supply chains to help Chinese and foreign enterprises share opportunities and pursue common growth. CCPIT will remain firmly committed to serving Chinese and foreign enterprises, build high-quality platforms, deliver all-round services, foster closer industrial and supply chain partnerships, and contribute fresh momentum to developing an open world economy and building a community with a shared future for mankind.

At the opening ceremony, CCPIT, together with business representatives from participating countries, jointly released the Beijing Initiative of The Fourth China International Supply Chain Expo, uniting global consensus on industrial cooperation across five dimensions: jointly enhancing the resilience of industrial and supply chains, forging new strengths for innovative development, accelerating digital and intelligent transformation, advancing green and low-carbon development, and deepening cooperation among the global business community.

Hong Kong Debuts Booth to Build a New Two-Way Hub Channel

For the first time at this year’s CISCE, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) set up an exhibition booth themed “Hong Kong Gateway · Connecting the Globe”, showcasing Hong Kong’s unique strengths and strategic value under the national 15th Five-Year Plan.

As an international financial, trade and shipping hub, Hong Kong serves as an indispensable two-way pivot within the global supply chain system — acting as a bridgehead for overseas enterprises tapping into the Chinese mainland market and a springboard for mainland firms expanding globally. Drawing on its unique positioning as a “super connector” and “super value-adding platform”, HKTDC caters to enterprises’ core outbound expansion demands by integrating high-value-added supply chain services and global market matching solutions. It not only supports mainland companies in deploying worldwide via Hong Kong but also empowers Hong Kong businesses to seize strategic opportunities amid the restructuring of industrial and supply chains.

During the expo, HKTDC hosted a series of outbound matching events under the banner “Hong Kong Gateway · Connecting the Globe”, centering on cross-border investment and financing, legal and tax compliance, overseas corporate structure setup and risk management. It collaborated with Hong Kong professional service institutions to deliver full-spectrum support for mainland enterprises, enabling them to steadily expand international markets by leveraging Hong Kong’s two-way hub advantages.

Meanwhile, HKTDC organized Hong Kong businesses based in Beijing to tour the expo and attend supporting forums, leveraging CISCE’s international platform to deepen industrial cooperation between Beijing and Hong Kong and expand channels for supply chain collaboration between enterprises from both regions.

Chairman Lin Long-an Invited to Opening Ceremony to Discuss Greater Bay Area Supply Chain Opportunities

Backed by the complete industrial system, robust manufacturing foundation, strong technological innovation capacity and highly open institutional strengths of the 9+2 city cluster, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has become a pivotal component of global industrial and supply chains. As a key commercial platform linking the Greater Bay Area to global industrial chains, the GREATER BAY AREA IMPORTERS AND EXPORTERS ASSOCIATION is dedicated to building bridges between Bay Area enterprises and worldwide industrial chains, deepening cross-border trade and international supply chain collaboration, and guiding member enterprises to engage in global cooperation. Its participation in CISCE marks a vital opportunity for the Association to integrate into global supply chain cooperation networks and facilitate Bay Area enterprises’ participation in global industrial division of labor.

Chairman Lin Long-an remarked that as the world’s first national-level open platform dedicated to supply chain cooperation, CISCE carries great significance. Stable and unimpeded global supply chains call for joint efforts and collaborative development from all stakeholders. Taking this year’s CISCE as a catalyst, the GREATER BAY AREA IMPORTERS AND EXPORTERS ASSOCIATION will draw on the Greater Bay Area’s industrial strengths to forge links between Bay Area enterprises and global industrial chains, deepen cross-border trade and international supply chain collaboration, and help member enterprises seize new opportunities for global cooperation.
