On September 8, the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) grandly opened in Xiamen, Fujian Province. Han Zheng, Vice President of the People’s Republic of China, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Han Zheng pointed out that President Xi Jinping has emphasized on many occasions that China will unswervingly expand high-standard opening-up and continuously advance the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment. The current world situation is volatile and fraught with growing uncertainties, yet the historical trend of openness, cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win results remains unchanged. With the permanent theme of “Expanding Two-way Investment, Promoting Global Development”, CIFIT bears strong practical significance amid the current international landscape and serves as a vital platform for global two-way investment cooperation.

Hosted from September 7 to 11, this year’s CIFIT is China’s national-level exhibition dedicated exclusively to promoting two-way investment. Scaling new record highs, the event drew over a thousand institutional delegations from 129 countries and regions as well as 30 international organizations. For the first time, Finland and Saudi Arabia acted as Guest Countries of Honor, while Guangdong and Qinghai served as Guest Provinces of Honor. Its all-round upgrades in internationalization, professionalism and digital intelligence fully demonstrate China’s firm resolve to continuously advance high-standard opening-up.

Lin Long’an, Member of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC and President of the Greater Bay Area Importers and Exporters Association (GBAIEA), led the Chamber’s delegation to Xiamen for the fair. The delegation took an active part in a series of high-end economic and trade events. Leveraging the industrial coordination strengths of the 9+2 cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, it connected domestic and overseas resources from multiple dimensions and expanded economic and trade cooperation opportunities, achieving fruitful results.

Boost Fujian-Hong Kong Coordination to Empower Fujian Enterprises to Go Global

On the eve of CIFIT’s opening, the Chamber participated in the Promotion Conference on Fujian Enterprises Going Global & Fujian-Hong Kong Economic and Trade Exchange. Co-hosted by commerce authorities of multiple provinces and municipalities together with Hong Kong economic and trade institutions, the conference focused on supporting Fujian enterprises to explore overseas markets by drawing on Hong Kong’s international advantages. At the event, all parties introduced service policies and platform resources for overseas expansion, and multiple professional institutions jointly released a cooperation initiative.

The Chamber stated that Fujian-Hong Kong linkage represents in-depth integration of institutional and industrial strengths. Relying on the Greater Bay Area import and export industrial coordination platform, it will build a cooperation model featuring “Greater Bay Area Experience + Hong Kong Channel + Fujian Industries”, accurately align resources between the two regions and consistently support Fujian enterprises to pursue high-quality overseas expansion.

Leverage Greater Bay Area Advantages to Share Opportunities of Opening-up

As a Guest Province of Honor, Guangdong made a high-profile appearance at this CIFIT. It showcased trillion-yuan industrial clusters, complete industrial chain supporting facilities and the strengths of four major Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao cooperation platforms, and promoted emerging industrial opportunities such as artificial intelligence and low-altitude economy. A large number of foreign enterprises expressed optimism about Guangdong’s business environment and reinforced their confidence in long-term investment layout.

The Chamber delegation participated in all sessions of Guangdong’s special promotion event. It took the initiative to brief global merchants on development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, built bridges between governments and enterprises as well as among enterprises, actively communicated the Greater Bay Area’s strengths in opening-up and cooperation, and helped domestic and foreign capital and projects take root in the Greater Bay Area.

Connect with the RCEP Mechanism to Vitalize Regional Economic and Trade Momentum

Invited to the 6th RCEP Economic and Trade Cooperation Matching Exchange, the Chamber held in-depth exchanges with government officials of RCEP member states, institutions stationed in China, and representatives of domestic and overseas enterprises. Centered on core topics including regional trade facilitation, industrial and supply chain coordination, and cross-border compliance operation, the event also released professional reports on overseas investment.

Taking advantage of this platform, the Chamber thoroughly explored entry points for regional cooperation, supported Greater Bay Area enterprises to integrate into the RCEP industrial chain system, and laid a solid cooperation foundation for member enterprises to jointly tap overseas markets including ASEAN countries.

Deepen Guizhou-Greater Bay Area Collaboration to Broaden Two-way Cooperation Channels

During the exhibition, the Chamber partnered with import and export chambers and leading enterprises from multiple Greater Bay Area cities to hold a special government-enterprise forum with the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce. The Guizhou side elaborated on local foreign trade strengths of the “three new major export products”, computing power industry, characteristic agricultural products and other late-developing industrial resources, alongside its layout for opening-up development.

In response to Guizhou enterprises’ demand for overseas expansion, the Chamber gave a detailed introduction to the Greater Bay Area’s strengths in platforms, channels and financial services. It proposed leveraging Hong Kong’s platforms to promote Guizhou’s characteristic industries internationally, supporting Guizhou products to enter global markets via overseas supermarkets and industrial park channels, and providing cross-border supply chain finance enabling services. The two sides also reached preliminary consensus on practical cooperation directions including paired assistance, industrial matching for new energy and new materials, and production-marketing docking for specialty goods.

In addition, the Chamber delegation attended numerous events including the CIFIT Investment and Trade Exchange Meeting, Chinese Entrepreneur Capital Two-way Exchange Meeting, Cross-Strait Food Industry Cooperation Matching Conference, China-Finland Economic and Trade Exchange Event, 2026 China-Thailand Economic and Trade Promotion Conference, and China-Saudi Arabia Economic and Trade Exchange. The delegation visited pavilions of Guest Countries of Honor and various industrial exhibition zones, extensively engaged with diplomatic envoys of various countries stationed in China, overseas chambers of commerce and domestic and foreign merchants, and fully captured cutting-edge industrial information and leads for project cooperation.

At this event, closely following the national deployment of high-standard opening-up, the Chamber fully fulfilled its role as a bridge between governments and enterprises and an industrial bond. It efficiently completed resource matching, opportunity exploration and brand promotion. Moving forward, the Chamber will continue to rely on national-level opening exhibition platforms to deepen cross-regional and cross-border economic and trade cooperation, fully serve member enterprises in two-way trade and investment, help the Greater Bay Area integrate deeply into the national overall opening-up landscape, and demonstrate the Chamber’s responsibility amid high-standard opening-up.
